An exceptional event ABOUT HOMEWORK
We know there are at least 9,300 homeless women in Victoria and undoubtedly many more - Many of these women have been homeless for several years. They are as young as 16 and as old as 80.Many of the women have suffered abuse, they may have mental ill health and be socially isolated having lost contact with friends and family. These women often slip through the cracks of the welfare system - many are reluctant to speak up and ask for help. Short term accommodation, when available, is not a long term solution. Government services alone are not enough. Like all of us, our women want a home.
Bethlehem Community is committed to helping women... by assisting them in rebuilding their lives
Homework - is a fundraising group established to support the work of the Bethlehem Community and to enable future expansion.
Homework is critical to the next phase in Bethlehem’s growth.
Homework's major fundraising event is a Gala Ball on Saturday 24 March 2012
